Semperfli’s Products

Nano Silk

Nano Silk is an amazing fly tying silk. Made from Gel Spun Yarn, (gsp) is the strongest fly tying yarn you will find but so thin it can be made to disappear! W It is ultra strong, fine and designed for those small and large flies!

Straggle String Micro Chenille

The worlds thinnest fly tying chenille. This stunning micro chenille has just 2 strands in its manufacture making it extraordinarily thin – ideal for micro dry thoraxes on Klinkhammers. The stunning uv flecks imitate insect and inverebrate legs, ideal for Czech nymphs.  Simply wrap around the body and add a shellback with wire or use colours like 7250 – the apple green for Rhyac nymphs.

Spyder Thread

Despite the strength of Nano Silk and its ability to lie flat and disappear on small and micro flies some tyers prefer traditional material for their fly tying thread. Semperfli developed  Spyder Thread aimed at the traditional market where fine threads like Gordon Griffiths CobWeb is used.

The Spyder thread is a colour-fast semi-translucent two twist polyester based fly tyers thread, available in 18/0 30 Denier, has a 15% stretch and has a breaking strain of 14oz 390g. This allows Spyder thread to lay flat on the hook and as a semi-translucent thread it will appear to be  natural colour for wet, dry and nymph flies.

Iridescent Thread

The Semperfli Iridescent Thread is a stunning, glistening material that is highly versatile in its fly tying uses and will add attractive hot spots to your fly patterns.

This thread has an amazing iridescent appearance and will add flash and enhance attraction to any fly. You can use the thread to tie a body of a pattern or to add a different colour to act as a trigger point at the head or butt of your fly.

You can also use a single strand of the thread and use this as a rib on a fly or use a few strands in a wing or tail to add a touch of colour or flash.

Booby Tube

Great for Booby eyes, fab (foam arsed blob) bodies and other foam arsed flies.

Thin Skin Shell Back

Often called Thin Skin, Scud Back or Nymph Back. Our is designed specifically for shell backs on scuds, sow bugs, shrimp and nymphs. Semperfli Bug Shell Back Thin Skin is a flexible clear 6mm or 1/4″ (in old money!) wide stretch material ideal for using on various shrimps, nymphs, scuds, wet flies, saltwater etc. It comes in approx 1.5m or 5′ lengths making over 150 shrimps or hundreds of nymph backs!

Predator Fibre

Having an action between MARABOU and BUCKTAIL Semperfli Predator Fibres are an alternative to Enrico Puglisi’s EP Fibres but much more cost effective. Predator Fibres are available in a great array of colours in 18 inch strands – they are perfect for imitating large baitfish as well as 1” to 2” baitfish whether tied on hooks or tubes for saltwater or freshwater fishing flies.Another great use of Predator Fibres is as winging material for Temple Dogs or other salmon flies, because it does not absorb water the flies will cast well and give great movement in the water every time.

Large flies tied with Predator Fibres are a dream to cast significant distances as the first back cast removes all the water from the fibres. The Predator Fibres are fully hydrophobic and easily sheds water on the backcast making the material light to cast.

The fibre has a slight ‘kink’ to it allowing you to give the fly some bulk without having to use excess material. THEY DO NOT ABSORB WATER. Use your imagination and there is no limit to the flies you can create with Predator Fibres. Synthetic, translucent long tapered tail fibres – Predator Fibres are equally as delicate as traditional feather fibre but infinitely stronger.

Superfine Dubbing

This fly tying dubbing is as fine as you can get measuring approximately 17 microns, it was specially made to be ultrafine. The SYN0100 is part of our superfine dubbing from our range of over 140 colours. The Semperfli dubbing can be purchases in single packs, in complete colour ranges or in the Semperfli Professional Dubbing System. The dubbing can be used standalone or mixed with the sparkle / ice dubbing and spiky dubbing for a great variety of effects.

You will find no finer dubbing than this!

Superfine measuring just 17 microns this makes incredible fine dubbing
Long Strands the dubbing can be broken down and used as traditional dubbbing or spun to create detached body fly tying, great for dry flies!

Poly Yarn

Polypropylene yarns absorb water and floatant and sit in the surface film. This makes them ideal for bodies, wings and for wing-posts

Inferno Goose Biots

These goose boots are part of the semperfli range of Inferno Goose Biots dyed to stunning colours. These can be used for wings, tails and as stunning wing buds on buzzers.

Flat Braids

Flat-Braid is very thin tightly braided metalloplastic ribbon we have had designed to form very slim bodies. Flat braid gives the opportunity to construct translucent bodies with very fine texture and is very popular as a body material, try ribbing your tubes or Waddingtons or as bodies for your trout and predator lures.

Fly Tying Wire

Perfect for lures and streamers our 0.2mm wire has been designed for strength for larger bodies of streamers and lures rather than our ultrafine 0.1mm wire which is better for nymphs, buzzers and even dry flies
